Numiko win work for two Good Causes

1:29 pm on March 27th, 2012, by Lorena Liberti

We’ve  just won two exciting projects for good causes, The National Lottery Promotions Unit and Time to Change.

The NLPU has chosen us from a national tender process to create a new Lottery Good Causes website – the site will be totally redesigned and it will help users find out more about how Lottery funding works, where it goes, who has benefited from it and how to apply.

Time to Change, England’s biggest mental health anti-stigma programme run by the charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, has commissioned us to create the digital strategy focusing on 14-18 year olds.   The strategy will help young people improve their knowledge and understanding of mental health problems, make sense of their own feelings and experiences, and reach out to others by starting conversations about a topic that is still often misunderstood.

We’re thrilled to have been commissioned for these projects, which really make a difference to peoples lives and we look forward to showcasing the work once it’s completed.

Hansel of Film website for Shetland Arts

5:00 pm on February 29th, 2012, by Lorena Liberti

We’ve been lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with Shetland Arts on a great project, supported by LOCOG and Creative Scotland.  Named Hansel of Film, meaning ‘gift of film’, the project centres around a relay of film screenings from Shetland to Southampton and back again.  It also promotes the idea of joining in, and of fun and celebration – ideas that are intrinsic to the London 2012 Festival.

Shetland Arts commissioned us to design and build a content manageable website to act as the main hub for the project, allowing people to upload their films, apply to become ‘runners’ (volunteers who will transport the films between venues) and follow the relay as it travels to each of the venues up and down the country.

The ‘Hansel of Film’ relay starts in Shetland just as the Olympic Torch arrives on 10 June, 2012.  To visit the site, go to http://hansel2012.org/

Numiko work with leading UK law firm

4:30 pm on October 20th, 2011, by Lorena Liberti

We have been working with branding agency, Thompson Brand Partners to deliver the online element of a new graduate recruitment campaign for law firm, Walker Morris.

We created a new website to help prospective graduates find more detailed information about the firm in general, through to actually applying to the firm’s graduate scheme. The site includes social media integration with facebook, twitter and LinkedIn, allowing the firm to reflect some of its core brand values, which aren’t shared with other law firm’s graduate sites.

The new site also hosts a number of video case studies of Walker Morris trainees, helping potential candidates have a clearer understanding of the types of  work they’ll be doing as a graduate.

NMA give top score for Cornish Mining website

3:37 pm on September 22nd, 2011, by Lorena Liberti

We are still beaming from the score the New Media Age gave the site we built for Cornish Mining – a bit fat 92/100 which is the highest score editor Will Cooper has ever given to a website in the NMA’s ‘Site Inspection’ feature.

Quoting Will from the article, he said “The Cornish and West Devon communities are justifiably proud of the area being designated a World Heritage Site for its mining past. They should also be proud of its supporting website, which is one of the finest examples of web design and content I’ve seen in a while.”

“Overall, it’s a fantastic, almost-flawless example of a site that takes what could be seen by many as a hard, heavy subject and makes it vibrant and, crucially, relevant. A must visit.”

A new site for CBeebies Grown-ups

12:46 pm on September 12th, 2011, by Lorena Liberti

We’ve been working with the CBeebies team to create a fun and user friendly site for Grown-ups. The new website is a place where carers and their children can go for more information about their favourite programmes while encouraging them to learn and play together.

The new site came about due to parents and carers feeling the old site had a lot of really valuable content, but it was difficult to find and wasn’t very inspiring.  Making it easier to navigate, the revamped site has three key sections:  ”Fun Activities”, “Support for You” and “Programmes”.  The “Support For You” section covers issues from nutrition and special needs, to first days in school or nursery and safeguarding children when they are using technology.

An important resource for carers, the features have been written in consultation with healthcare, special needs and Early Years experts.

If you’ve got kids, make this your homepage  http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/grownups/

12:39 pm on August 8th, 2011, by Lorena Liberti

Numiko has just finished a nine month project to launch a website for the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.

The new Cornish Mining World Heritage Site website aims to increase awareness of Cornish Mining and its impact on the world, while attracting new visitors to both the website and the physical site.

The site has been designed to appeal to a range of people and features amazing images of the landscapes, maps of the areas and things to do.

To help visitors plan their trip, we developed the ‘Build your own brochure’ where users can add attractions, events and activities to their brochure which they can then print out or share with friends.

Hidden Paintings go online for all to see

11:32 am on June 23rd, 2011, by Lorena Liberti

Numiko have been instrumental in developing the freshly launched Your Paintings website for the BBC which coincides with the broadcasting of ‘Hidden Paintings” – the umbrella title to 11 separate programmes to be broadcast on BBC One across England at 6pm on Sunday 26 June.

Previously hidden away, 200,000 paintings that document our rich history will be accessible on the web, for everyone to enjoy, for free.  The first phase  has gone live today starting with a whopping 63,000 paintings to see, and it will eventually build up to the 200,000.

It’s a really valuable project for anyone with an interest in art, from professional art historians, through to people who want to see Turner’s  famous Yorkshire skies for themselves.

Numiko create games for BBC Bitesize

12:15 pm on May 11th, 2011, by Lorena Liberti

Numiko are helping students revise for exams with a series of fun, educational games for GCSE Bitesize www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize.

We’ve designed three fun games that quiz students on GCSE English, Maths and Science.  The games reflect a teenager’s typical environment – a desk piled high with textbooks, a laptop, mobile and fizzy drink cans for company! Distractions like text messages, IM, online video calls and phone calls try to interrupt the student – all part of the game of course!

The RU Revising games are quick to play, addictive and a fun revision alternative for a stressed GCSE student.  They’re also designed to be easily updated by the BBC team should curriculum content change in the future.
