Numiko win work for two Good Causes

1:29 pm on March 27th, 2012, by Lorena Liberti

We’ve  just won two exciting projects for good causes, The National Lottery Promotions Unit and Time to Change.

The NLPU has chosen us from a national tender process to create a new Lottery Good Causes website – the site will be totally redesigned and it will help users find out more about how Lottery funding works, where it goes, who has benefited from it and how to apply.

Time to Change, England’s biggest mental health anti-stigma programme run by the charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, has commissioned us to create the digital strategy focusing on 14-18 year olds.   The strategy will help young people improve their knowledge and understanding of mental health problems, make sense of their own feelings and experiences, and reach out to others by starting conversations about a topic that is still often misunderstood.

We’re thrilled to have been commissioned for these projects, which really make a difference to peoples lives and we look forward to showcasing the work once it’s completed.

Numiko work with leading UK law firm

4:30 pm on October 20th, 2011, by Lorena Liberti

We have been working with branding agency, Thompson Brand Partners to deliver the online element of a new graduate recruitment campaign for law firm, Walker Morris.

We created a new website to help prospective graduates find more detailed information about the firm in general, through to actually applying to the firm’s graduate scheme. The site includes social media integration with facebook, twitter and LinkedIn, allowing the firm to reflect some of its core brand values, which aren’t shared with other law firm’s graduate sites.

The new site also hosts a number of video case studies of Walker Morris trainees, helping potential candidates have a clearer understanding of the types of  work they’ll be doing as a graduate.

NMA give top score for Cornish Mining website

3:37 pm on September 22nd, 2011, by Lorena Liberti

We are still beaming from the score the New Media Age gave the site we built for Cornish Mining – a bit fat 92/100 which is the highest score editor Will Cooper has ever given to a website in the NMA’s ‘Site Inspection’ feature.

Quoting Will from the article, he said “The Cornish and West Devon communities are justifiably proud of the area being designated a World Heritage Site for its mining past. They should also be proud of its supporting website, which is one of the finest examples of web design and content I’ve seen in a while.”

“Overall, it’s a fantastic, almost-flawless example of a site that takes what could be seen by many as a hard, heavy subject and makes it vibrant and, crucially, relevant. A must visit.”

Singing along with CBeebies

11:46 am on September 16th, 2011, by Lorena Liberti

Numiko have been working with experts at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) to develop a set of three groundbreaking online games for the for pre-schoolers.  The first game to go live is Old MacDonald with the remaining two coming soon.

CBeebies  Sing-along is a presenter-led, interactive musical activity based around nursery rhymes and action songs.  What makes Sing-along special is that it works by sound recognition alone, removing the need for small children to use a keyboard or mouse.  It requires children to interact with songs by singing along, making it possible for children at different stages of development to have fun and learn at the same time.  Words also appear on screen to help with early stage literacy.

The game was tested at GCU’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the eMotion lab and using the latest eye-tracker technology.

Have fun with your little one. Visit CBeebies Singalong

A new site for CBeebies Grown-ups

12:46 pm on September 12th, 2011, by Lorena Liberti

We’ve been working with the CBeebies team to create a fun and user friendly site for Grown-ups. The new website is a place where carers and their children can go for more information about their favourite programmes while encouraging them to learn and play together.

The new site came about due to parents and carers feeling the old site had a lot of really valuable content, but it was difficult to find and wasn’t very inspiring.  Making it easier to navigate, the revamped site has three key sections:  ”Fun Activities”, “Support for You” and “Programmes”.  The “Support For You” section covers issues from nutrition and special needs, to first days in school or nursery and safeguarding children when they are using technology.

An important resource for carers, the features have been written in consultation with healthcare, special needs and Early Years experts.

If you’ve got kids, make this your homepage  http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/grownups/

10:35 am on May 31st, 2011, by Tom Evans

Well. It’s been a really interesting first day at Thinking Digital 2011 – a huge variety of great speakers talking about all kinds of interesting topics. We’ve spent the evening reminiscing about who we liked and going “Ooh, I’d forgotten about him” or “Yeah, that was great too!” because there were so many good speakers that it was hard to remember them all!

Patient Opinion: personas, Post-Its… and Darth Vader?

3:19 pm on February 23rd, 2011, by Tom Evans

For the last six months or so we’ve been beavering away on a site called Patient Opinion, and now, after a lot of hard work and a mountain of Post-It notes we’re about done.

Patient Opinion aims to start a dialogue between the people who use UK health services and the staff within those services who have the power to make a difference. They ask patients, carers, relatives and friends to contribute their stories of health care, whether those stories are complaints, praise, criticisms or compliments. These stories can be read by staff, from admin assistants to matrons to senior consultants, who can act on them to create positive change.
