Leeds Digital Festival 2016
In the last couple of years, Leeds has had a lot to be proud of. The Tour De France, best English city to live in and welcoming technology hubs such as Sky and Google Garage with open arms just to name a few. But just in case you haven’t heard, 2016 is scheduled to be the most innovative year yet.
Leeds Digital Festival is coming in April 2016, collaborating with Live at Leeds music festival and attracting new audiences.
We’re proud to be on the steering committee for this unique project which will see innovators in music and digital join forces with local businesses, agencies, brands, students and visitors. There will be initiatives taking place all over the city for everyone to get involved in. Leeds Digital Festival wants to support and encourage people to host their own events, taking inspiration from the SXSW festivals in Texas.
In the run up to the festival, this week we attended the first meeting led by Stuart Clarke heard what Leeds digital community thought of the initiative - the response was overwhelming. As over 80 of Leeds finest gathered in The Belgrave, ideas on education, innovation, music, experiential events are quickly gaining momentum. Combined with confirmed support from Leeds City Council, KPMG, Business Insider, Sky and more, we’re sure the results are going to be incredible.
As an agency we pride ourselves on moving forward and are always interested in doing something new. Events such as these aren’t just an opportunity to network and promote the business, but a chance to break out of everyday thinking patterns, experience new things, contribute thinking that will benefit the entire community and have fun!
As we begin to build the Leeds Digital Festival website, there’s already an active discussion happening inside Numiko on how else we can contribute to this initiative. In the spirit of collaboration, we would love to hear from anyone with an idea or a passion. Get in touch and watch this space!
