Introduction

'Yorkshire Forward' is the regional development agency for Yorkshire and the Humber. It’s a complicated organisation, and is many things to many people; therefore the RDA needs to concisely and comprehensively communicate what is it, and what it does, to all stakeholders.

Brief

The website’s main objective was to help Yorkshire Forward be accessible to all target audiences; from MPs and government agencies seeking information, to members of the public wanting to know what’s happening where they live.

The brief also included making the public aware of Yorkshire Forward’s influence on the region; encouraging participation in regeneration schemes. The website needed to maximise the organisation’s resources and people, creating a compelling and useful resource, offering more than information.

Solution

Numiko concentrated on taking the site from being organisation-focused to audience-focused. This meant literally starting from scratch with the site architecture, design, content and the actual development of the website.

The site needed a new, bespoke content management system for Yorkshire Forward to add and update content; keeping the site fresh. Our relationship with Yorkshire Forward is ongoing, meaning the site is constantly evolving, staying up to date and improving.

The site was developed using Drupal which is a content management framework that enabled us to create highly personalised versions of the site and link this to associated CRM activity, such as personalised emails.

Results

Yorkshire Forward wanted to be consistently ranked in the top three of England’s RDA websites.

The website has consistently been independently ranked to be first for number of page views per user and second out of the nine RDA websites in terms of number of visits and average visit time.
